Cruise Tips
- Cabin Location
Make sure you take a look at the deck plan of the ship you're sailing on. Proximity to an elevator makes it easier to travel between decks, while a mid-ship location may mean a smoother ride.
- Travel Insurance
Trip's can be expensive, and you may stand to lose a lot. Lost luggage, airline cancellations, accidental injury or medical emergencies can all result in unexpected bills. Travel insurance can protect you from these risks, depending on the policy you get.
- Travel Documents
Make sure you bring your passport on any trip. International cruises will require you show your passport before you set sail. Plus, you always need to show your passport when reentering the U.S.
- Pack Right
Just because you're on a cruise ship doesn't mean you should always be in a bathing suit or t-shirt. Some cruises can get chilly on deck in the evenings and some ships may have more formal events you'll want to dress up for. Always check before you go.
Plan a Cruise on Any Budget
Think that a cruise vacation has to be expensive? Think again. Compared to other types of vacations, cruising is surprisingly affordable. Here's how a cruise vacation stacks up against a traditional hotel/resort vacation*.
